We are still not excited about Romo

Well,  unless something miraculous happens,  it looks the Cowboys are heading into the 2007 superbowl hunt with Tony Romo as the starting QB.   We here at the nomo romo camp were holding out hope that a genie bottle would appear in Jerry Jones path and grant him the wish of a franchise QB with talent and experience.   It seems that might not happen.

People are divided in two camps as far as Romo is concerned.  Me, Jerry Jones, and the media are hedging the bets on Romo being the future of the Dallas Cowboys.  Jerry has commented that he will not sign Romo to a long-term contract and the media is remembering last season when Romo looked like an undrafted rookie that needs a few years in arena leagues to realize his talent.

Of course, then you have the ignorant romo fans that think he is the next best thing since Troy Aikman.   They are rewriting history by remembering our defense losing games last year by making Romo fumble 4 times in one game.

The Eagles and Saints and half of the Colts game last year made Romo look confused at best.  There is no way I can force myself to remember our defense causing Romo to play bad.  Not ironically, those were the playoff caliber teams he played.  He looked great last year against Tampa (not a playoff team).

Of course we remember the Romo fumble that cost us the playoff game, but that doesn’t give the honest folks the luxury of forgetting the fact that Romo couldn’t complete two passes in a row the entire game.  I remember him bouncing passes to recievers.

Romo is a great kid, with a great attitude.  However, Romo is a kid with below average NFL arm strength, below average NFL speed, and below average NFL experience.  No matter what the average fan thinks,  offseason workouts are not able to improve those specific things.

Lets go Romo!  Unless we see that genie bottle,  we are headed for a 7-9 season.

Lets begin to look forward to the day when we get a real franchise QB.  During the search,  lets hope the Cowboys consider talent in the candidate.

TONY Romo

  1. ….7-9…WTF? and youre calling us ignorant.
were you even watching the right team?
The Tuna was the biggest part of the problem!
You just cant have have a coach with a bigger eago than your star players. And you dont hire one whos butt you ve been kickin for years..
You dont clip a birds wings and cry because it dont fly anymore.
And not to mention the stupidity on play calling .
3rd and 24 run the ball ???? YOURE FIRED !!!!!
And why in the heck isnt #31 up on the line giving QBs and RBs concussions? YOURE FIRED !!!!
And oh yea lets be sure and put our starting QB on the field holding the extra point and feild goal, Im sure he wont fumble with numb broken fingers. Idiot !!…YOURE FIRED !!!!!!!

A warm welcome to Wade too..
let the play-makers do what they do , thers a Super Bowl at the end of it all 12+ wins this season division winners and shot at the title

I couldn’t agree more. I thought Parcells should have been fired during the season last year.

His decision to put an inexperienced QB in for the stretch run costs us a great season.

Romo started really bad, then got better against some bad teams. Then he when down hill fast. The current trend of performance doesn’t help us. Give us an experienced QB with a good arm and I would pick the boys to win 12. Give a kid with no arm, no speed and not experience and I’ll be happy with 7 wins.

  3. Well ill have to agree Romo makes some bone-head moves .Hopefuly most of those things will be fixed with more playtime.
the most obvious thung to me is our lack of a deep threat .We could almost mirror the team of the 90s but no Alvin Harper here .. or is there ?..Crayton has got some really good hands I swear can catch the ball one handed between his legs turning a back flip.Could it be T.O.?
it would appear he needs more time to think about catchin it than those short slants he likes to drop will give him :) .

Yea Romo has no exp.and he might lack a little speed.but he has good escape moves.and i think he has a good armm, those deep slants to Whitten are rocket fast and right on the money .
But i guess only time will tell :)

Terry Glenn is a pretty good deep threat if he gets healthy.
