Eagles WR Jackson suffers leg injury (AP)

Philadelphia Eagles wide reciever DeSean Jackson has been carted off the field with a back injury during an afternoon practice at training camp. The Eagles' leading receiver caught a pass Saturday and stumbled to the ground, then needed help to the sidelines. Moments later, a cart came and took him to the workout facility.

Bucs agree with No. 3 overall pick McCoy (AP)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers agreed to terms on a five-year contract with first-round draft pick Gerald McCoy and also reached a six-year deal with restricted free agent left tackle Donald Penn on the opening day of training camp. General manager Mark Dominik announced the developments Saturday during the club's first practice.

Raiders WR Murphy out with concussion (AP)

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Louis Murphy is being held out of training camp practice with a concussion. Murphy says he got hurt when he was kneed in the helmet by teammate Nnamdi Asomugha during practice Friday. He has a bad headache and missed practice Saturday. Coach Tom Cable says Murphy will not return until he passes a series of tests that shows he has recovered.

Eagles sign veteran WR Washington (AP)

The Eagles have signed veteran wide receiver Kelley Washington to a one-year contract and released Jared Perry. Washington is entering his eighth season in the league, having played with the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. The 6-foot-3, 217-pound wideout caught a career-best 34 passes for 431 yards and two touchdowns with Baltimore last season.

Roof repair begins at Cardinals’ stadium (AP)

Crews are set to begin fixing the roof of the Arizona Cardinals' stadium. A storm Thursday caused a piece of the University of Phoenix Stadium's silver outer shell to come off and tear the fabric that's part of the stadium's retractable roof, leaving a 1,500-square-foot hole surrounded by several smaller rips.

Browns RB Hardesty out ‘a couple weeks’ (AP)

Cleveland Browns second-round draft pick Montario Hardesty will miss "a couple weeks" after twisting a knee during a pre-camp drill. Hardesty, expected to vie with Jerome Harrison to be the starting running back, was injured Thursday but surgery was not required, coach Eric Mangini said Saturday after the Browns' first practice of training camp.

Seahawks special-teams ace Morey retires (AP)

Special-teams ace Sean Morey has retired from the Seattle Seahawks. A team spokesman announced the move Saturday morning, minutes before the Seahawks started training camp. Morey was a Pro Bowl selection in 2008 with Arizona, and he signed a free-agent contract with Seattle this offseason. The 34-year-old has been a leader in raising awareness of head injuries.

Chiefs sign No. 5 pick S Berry (AP)

Eric Berry's tweet was true. The Kansas City Chiefs confirmed Friday they signed the star safety from Tennessee, about nine hours after he said on his Twitter account that he'd come to terms. The Chiefs did not release details but ESPN was reporting the 6-year deal was potentially worth $60 million.
